Muscat is famous for dazzling souks and superb seafood, but its terrain brings the biggest thrills. This port city on the Gulf of Oman is backed by the Hajar mountains, meaning you can trek deserts at dawn, spot dolphins at sundown, and enjoy plenty of effusive Omani hospitality in between.
We will take you to the most important sites: the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the Sultans Palace, National Museum, old forts and the famous Mutrah Souq. When you get hungry, you have to try the Omani seefood, fresh from the sea and marinated with the best oriental spices. Omani Halwa is the preferred sweet of the country, next to the many kinds of dates.
